Our Team

The Cannabis License Expert team includes former Quality Assurance Persons (QAP) from licensed cannabis producers and pharmaceutical manufacturers, Canada Food Inspection Agency inspectors, and Health Canada Food and Quality Assurance professionals from the food and natural health product sectors. Our team, collectively, has the experience of preparing over 100 cannabis license applications since 2013 under MMPR, ACMPR and the Cannabis Act.

With operational and regulatory experience, including preparing and successfully obtaining the first ever License to Produce (LP) under ACMPR, our team has the experience that has led to many successful license issuances with no refusals considering over a third of applications are refused for various technical and information deficiencies.

Andrew has been actively involved in the regulatory compliance and quality assurance space for over 20 years. He founded Quality Smart Solutions, a leading regulatory firm, in 2007, serving the needs of global firms in complying with Health Canada and FDA regulations. Andrew spends his free time with his two children and their various activities. When he gets a break from his kids he’s catching up on his favourite sci-fi shows.

Kalpna holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) Degree from the University of Waterloo, as well as a graduate certificate in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs and Quality Operations from Seneca College. Kalpna has prepared and submitted over 40 cannabis licence applications under the ACMPR and the newly implemented Cannabis Act & Regulations for Research, Cultivation and Processing. In her free time, Kalpna loves to cook, read and listen to music. In the future, she hopes to travel more and learn about the different cultures of the world.

Grant has close to 20 years of experience in the fields of sports nutrition and health & wellness. After over a decade at our sister company - Quality Smart Solutions - he transitioned to CLE’s Sales division. In addition, Grant is a licensed real estate agent, utilizing his network of contacts to advise select clients on potential properties for their cannabis businesses. Outside of work, Grant enjoys staying healthy and fit through a variety of sports and activities, and he's a big fan of movies, mixed martial arts, and ice hockey.
